Who Persuades You?
Every human is persuaded by someone or something. We must be persuaded by God! Beware of allowing other influences to dominate you. King Hezekiah was faithful to God. He cleansed the Temple and sought to guard his heart against pride. But God allowed trials in his life to test and refine him. Right after Hezekiah’s reformation in Israel the King of Assyria made war upon Jerusalem. Hezekiah prepared for the invasion by cutting off all supply lines the Assyrians could use. In the same way we must cut off all supply lines to the enemy and cut off the paths of carnality. Beware of any unblocked paths of carnality in your life. The people of Israel united together and helped and participated in this. Beware of selfishness and individuality. The Devil has influenced humanity into a false independence in which self is god. This is dangerous! The people of Israel during Hezekiah’s time stopped living for themselves and worked together with God. When God calls a leader there must be others that are like-minded in the faith. All need strong faith, do not look to the leader alone for encouragement, and do not seek a human mediator! All must receive mercy. In what do you trust? Do you believe in the words of King Hezekiah or the words of the King of Assyria? Do you only believe because Hezekiah believes or do you personally believe? Do not allow fear and doubt to grip your mind! Satan always tries to make things appear a lot worse than they actually are. Do not believe the lies. We must have faith in God and obey Him. We must remove all idols and traces of paganism so we worship One God at One Altar! God will save us as He saved Israel as we continue to trust Him and obey Him.
