Listen, Lift, and Look

Isaiah tells his listeners to listen, lift, and look. All three aspects of justification are found here. God assures His followers that He will continue what He has begun as we continue diligently in following Him. The believer is not to look to themselves or their circumstances but to look to Him. God calls us out of where we are and brings us into a hopeful future. In conversion the penitent hears the voice of the Lord and one must respond with humility. God takes us and forms us and transforms us according to our faith. The measure of faith we have will impact who we become. Without doing hearing does not actually become listening. Law is hearing. Faith is listening. A person may claim to have faith but what they do shows whether they actually have it or not. True biblical faith is confidence in the Lord and acting based on this confidence. To be lifted is to be raised up in your thinking. It is the will of God for a Christian to be sanctified. This is done as one lives out His Word. Entire sanctification includes the participation of the Christian because it requires continual consecration. The main reason people miss out on eternal life is because of the distractions of this world, the cares, riches, and pleasures. The essential condition of salvation is ongoing faith. Satan tires to trick us with the temporary so we miss out on the eternal. Sanctification is power. God wants us to give an appropriate caring response to what we hear. Faith is the result of how one listens, lifts, and looks to God for salvation. God calls us to covenant with Himself. We must be willing to awake to action. Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve!
