The Seal of God's Approval

The third chapter of John contains stories about two priests. One is named John the Baptist, and the other is Nicodemus the Pharisee. Jesus told Nicodemus that one must be born of water and the Spirit to enter the true priesthood of God. Yet there are many Pharisees who refuse to repent, many will say anything so they don’t have to repent. Many Pharisees oppose the message of Christ and it creates disputes. There are some who profess they belong to God but have no testimony. It is those who have received and acted upon the message of the Gospel that are truly born again. This is the difference between a true profession and a false profession. The call of God is personal, each one must make a decision. The life is what gives evidence to what one belongs to. The truly regenerated Christian lives for God as a living sacrifice, they are holy priests of God that have been reborn. John the Baptist was a true priest of God, he had a testimony and lived a life set apart for the purposes of God. The friend of Christ hears Him, they believe, respond, obey, and conform. They give evidence and witness of God! Only those who are born again are fit for the Kingdom of God. Nicodemus was a priest who went through the motions but did not have a personal relationship with God. In Christianity there is a priesthood of all believers. All have direct access to God! The blood of Christ has made it possible for all to have direct access to God! The veil has been torn! Christ has purged our sins and sat down after offering one sacrifice for the sins of the world! The priest’s role is to offer acceptable sacrifices to God. Christians are to offer themselves to God everyday as a living sacrifice.
