He Opened Their Understanding

The Disciples are to resemble the resurrected Savior, Disciples are to live His Word, persevere in righteousness, and remain in correct relationship with God through the cross of Christ. The Disciples had their understanding opened to comprehend the Scriptures and what was going on. God desires all who follow Him to live Christ-like, but in order to do this one will suffer like Christ and will be persecuted. Many in the Church do not live this way, nor do they desire to live this way. This grieves and breaks the hearts of those who seek to live in holiness. To truly live the life of the Christian is to follow the paths of Christ, to suffer as Christ did, the result of redemption is transformation! The truth of the Gospel is that Christ’s Disciples will suffer as He did. Christians will go on to everlasting life as they obey the Scriptures. There are many critics of the Bible today, there is apathy and uncertainty, among the heathen is hatred towards God’s law. The systems of the world rage against a Holy God, lawlessness abounds, but Jesus want His Disciples to see this is the fulfillment of the Scriptures. Jesus wants to open the eyes of all to see the Truth of the Scriptures, the Devil wants to open eyes to rebellion and slander. Many today doubt the Scriptures, but within them is the only way to eternal life. The world has had its eyes opened through secular humanism, enlightenment, liberalism, and Biblical Criticism but to have their eyes opened without the Scriptures has led the world where it is today! There is a penalty to be paid, the days of Grace will not last much longer. God has offered pardon to mankind, but most refuse. God calls all men to repent!
