He Who Has Seen Me Has Seen The Father

Jesus Christ is the only way, truth, and life. Christ is not speaking in this passage of using “His Name” as something with “magic power,” but as one who has repented of their sin and entered into a relationship with God through Christ. Jesus attributed everything to the Father, His perfect love and oneness with the Father, and all can enter into this same relationship. The obedience of Christ was based on love, to have His nature dwelling in them. This relationship is available to all! Love always manifests itself through obedience to God. When Jesus says “My Name” He is saying that what is true of Him must be true of you. Christ was an extension of God and all Christians are called to be the same. To pray in the name of Jesus is to pray with the heart of Christ according to the will of God. Names do not matter, what something is matters, not what something is called. It is the heart of a person that God sees, not the flesh. Everything opposed to Christ in this world will be brought down. The disobedient will face the wrath and the fury of God. Those that have been redeemed have the Holy Spirit living in them and they are being refined, purified, and changed. When a person is born again they receive the incarnation of God within. God knows those who are His based on whether He sees Christ in each part of the person’s life. They see the world around them as vanity and instead have purposed to love God with all their hearts, soul, mind, and strength. God will only record His Name where He is honored. Only for a short time longer will people abuse the grace of God, to be saved one must experience the redemption of Christ and have His Name written upon them.
