God Gave Us His Best, He Gave Us His Grace
This sermon is a true and scriptural explanation of what the grace of God is as explained by Paul to the young pastor Titus. The grace of God serves as the very foundation of the Christian life so a correct understanding of it is essential to every Christian. God's grace is unmerited and it grows based on the response of an individual. Jesus taught that the grace of God is given in degrees as people respond and apply it to their lives. All grace given is must be applied by the believer and put into action so that transformative work of God may continue in the Christian's life. God's grace is never to be abused by the Christian, a Christian must not stay in sin and abuse the grace of God! Sadly this is not what so many are preaching today. A Christian's response to the call and grace of God will determine their eternal destiny, without obedience grace has no affect. To live godly is to deny sin and ungodliness, and God gives the Christian grace to do this which produces power. If someone to claims they are living by the grace of God but are not living in holiness they are living a lie. God's grace transforms the Christian, but the Christian must act, not sit around and do nothing with it! God gives grace for a reason, He rebukes and corrects us through it, and the goal is not our own pleasure but holiness. Christians are called to walk in the grace of God in fidelity. The Apostle Paul defines grace in terms of what it can do for the Christian. It is given so all can be freed from the flesh, the world, and the devil. Grace brings salvation and the power to walk in holiness. This is the true purpose of the grace of God.
