Make Room, Christ Is Coming
The world that Christ was born into was a world under the dominion of Rome. The people that Christ was born to were a people under bondage to Rome, although it was not the will of God that they would ever be in bondage to anyone. God created mankind to be free. To be free mentally, spiritually, and physically, but when Adam and Eve rebelled against God they became enslaved to death. When the Christmas story starts Joseph and Mary under bondage to Rome are commanded to submit to a census, but God was also about to fulfill His promise to break the grip of Satan. When Christ was born there were people who were righteous and ready for His coming, people who followed God as individuals and walked in the presence of God daily obeying His commands. These people were Mary, Joseph, Simeon, and Hannah. These were people who were ready for Christ to come and they saw Christ. Others were not ready in advance, but got ready when He came. These were the people who heard the Gospel and responded by faith. The choice is left up to all who hear the Gospel call if they will respond or not. To respond to the Gospel is to repent and allow Christ to rule over every area of your life. To respond to the Gospel is to surrender all your possessions and forsake all to follow Christ no matter where you are being led by the will of God. Once again the world is in darkness as it was when Christ was born. Human philosophies have given rise to Nihilism. This is a system of beliefs where there is no right or wrong and no biblical ethics. Christ is coming soon. He is coming not as a babe in a manger but as a conquering King to claim His pure and holy bride for Himself. All make room, Christ is coming!
