Let Them Be Ready For the Third Day
God desires to reign over the whole life of the person. Love for Christ is measured in obedience, this is the Covenant. It is through faith and as we obey God prepares us for eternity. The Law is established through faith. Only a heart given to God through love to Him fulfills the Law. David writes of his love for the Law. The Law was given at Mount Sinai to provide for a way for the people to enter Canaan, the Holy Spirit is given to the Church for the same reason. God has shown His faithfulness, now it is up to the Church to obey. We must deny ourselves and follow after Christ, obedience brought the disciples to the upper room. The Church is called to obey God, to obey His Law, to be a holy nation, set apart for His use and for His will. There is no justification or sanctification without obedience. The righteous requirements of the Law are established as we walk by faith. One is justified by present faith. Let go of the past, trust Him for the future by faith, this is the only way to have rest for our souls. One is not only declared righteous, but actually made righteous. When a person is born again they have God in them and this relationship to God is continued by the Holy Spirit, the holiness of God outshines sin and it is not a burden to obey God. We must allow God to come as a cloud and block our vision for other things. God calls us to consecration, the washing of baptism into Christ, and preparation to meet with God. All those who truly believe have nothing to fear when God comes down. Only those who pretend to believe have something to fear. The Gospel is repent and believe. Time is running out! He is coming! We must be ready for His coming.
