What Type of Crown Will You Wear?
How does God assess our rewards? What type of crow does God value? The greatest crown is the one that is received through trial and tribulation. Christ tells His faithful bride that the greatest persecution will come from those that claim to be Christians but are not. These are people who profess to be Christians but have never had a change of heart. They love the world and persecute true Christians. They love other things more than God. Those that are born again have victory over the world and will receive a crown. Those that do not will never receive a crown. Every believer is called to live a holy life. To obtain this crown the Christian must submit their will to God. They must strive and struggle! In the modern Church today far too many are sleepy and self-consumed. The watchmen no longer guard the congregations because they are consumed with the world. We must be ready at all times by watching and praying. We must beware of the lawless one who always preaches grace without truth. The religious people of the days of Christ wanted money and possessions, they wanted the world, and therefore they wanted to destroy all that Christ stood for and pressured Pilate into going along with it although he was convinced that Jesus was innocent. The message the Pharisees hated to hear was that the greatest are the servants. The crown to desire is the crown of the shepherd, the crown of one who denies themselves and pours out their life for the sheep. The crown to desire is that of “Holiness unto the Lord.” Christians are called to be holy as God is holy, their crown is to say, think, and perform holiness. All true Christians must bow before God to receive the crown of holiness.
