Passing Through Samaria
While living on earth Jesus had to experience everything that all experience. The pain and suffering. Like Jacob before Him Christ had to go through Samaria, which was a place of suffering. Jesus when He entered Samaria was witnessing everything that Jacob witnessed. And everything that the woman at the well witnessed. He was made in every way like man, yet without sin. Jesus meets a woman who comes to draw water. She immediately reveals her false beliefs to Him. Jesus offers living water to her. The grace empowerment to change! God offers this living water to anyone who asks. But one must ask in faith and not doubt, and respond to the Gospel through action. The woman points out the well is deep. The well is as deep as our sin, people look to the things of this world to satisfy, but Christ is greater! Those that thirst must repent, then become justified, and continue on unto sanctification. Living water is the only water that will quench thirst. Our Post-modern generation is rummaging through truth and trusting in things that have never been proven, without the Word of God we build on sand! There is so much suffering in the world today because of sin. It is the result of mankind seeking to fulfill their thirst with something other than living water. All who thirst must come to Christ! The woman at the well has been shown her need for salvation and that the world will not save her. But she must make Christ her Lord, Savior, and Master. She hears, receives, and believers. She took Christ as her own and gave her life to Him. A change has taken place! She leaves her water pot! Her soul was satisfied with the water of life. She is born again and shares it with others.
