The Obedient Servant

In the Bible God speaks of Himself as the husband of His people. Isaiah the prophet speaks of how God has not given Israel a certificate of divorce, but He is about to put them away. This is because they have separated themselves from God through their transgressions. God will not renounce a willing and contrite heart. The Lord’s purpose is always for the good of His people, He does not ever desire to destroy His people. God has not rejected His people, but His people have rejected Him. In this passage Isaiah describes the character of the Messiah. Every endowment upon Him is from God. God gave to Jesus the tongue of the learned. And God will give to all those who put their faith and confidence in Him. Many Christians aren’t benefitting from all that God has to give them because they fall short of obedience. In order to obey one must be in agreement with God. The obedient servant is not willing to leave things the way they are. Instead the obedient servant desires to bring healing, change, and light to those in need. If we believe what God has said then we will become agents of change in the word we live in. Has God awakened you? Submit to God and let the changes begin that the Holy Spirit will work inside of you. Only the obedient servant can hear Him. The obedient servant is trustworthy and does not move away from what the Lord says. We must trust in God alone and look to the end with patience and willingness. The Lord will sustain us. We shall not be ashamed because God will prevail! We are to imitate Jesus example and not rely on our own power, but instead learn to confide in God and remain committed to Him at all costs.
