We Wish To See Jesus
Jesus Christ came to save the world through the regeneration and the restoration of those who believe. Christ came to restore everything that Adam had lost in the garden when he disobeyed God. Before Adam sinned he was clothed in the presence of God, after he sinned wickedness was birthed in his heart, and sin brings forth death. Christ came as the Savior to the world and won the victory over sin, death, and hell. Through His life and sacrifice He won the victory for sinful man that was lost in the Garden of Eden. This victory is seen in the raising of Lazarus. Christ calls out to all those that are spiritually dead today to the glory of God, and the glory of God in man is the image of Christ. All who respond to this call will live and come forth from the death of sin and death, demons, Satan, and hell cannot keep one bound! All who desire to see Jesus must come forth to be born again and then they must abide in Christ and depend upon God alone. The progress of the work of God in the soul will be if one begins to seek for affirmation from others and to glory in their flesh through pride. All who follow Christ must beware of a high view of self, self-respect, and self-glory. All who follow Christ must die to self so that Christ alone can be seen as Paul speaks of as “being crucified with Christ.” What Adam lost through sin is restored in the believer by faith and death to self, living for Christ alone through faith. We see this life of sacrifice and selflessness in Mary Magdalene as she pours out the costly oil upon Christ and washes His feet with her tears. God desires for us to see Christ as Mary saw Him, she is a pattern to follow in her selfless devotion to Christ.
