This sermon is based on Genesis 18:1-21. In this passage we see Abraham as the example we are to follow. Abraham obeyed God and lived a life of faith, proving God in his life. Abraham desired to see God and he was willing to trust God in everything. This is why his faith was accounted to him as righteousness. So many today would rather trust in other things, like science, education, and medical knowledge instead of trusting in God. This is why Jesus called the generation that He came to a “faithless and perverse generation,” because they trusted in the things of this world and saw God as a Deist would see God! But Abraham trusted God alone and he was called a friend of God. Abraham was also used by God to bless the world, and all true followers of Christ will be used to do that same as they walk in the faith of Abraham. This generation desperately needs people like Abraham to live lives of righteousness before God and continue to warn the world of coming judgment. There needs to be people like Abraham who stand for the truth and walk by faith as he did, for the outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great.
