Consider the Goodness and Severity of God

God gives grace that enables all to choose between sin and obedience. Salvation is available to all by faith. Through obedience to Christ one can be made righteous, but human pride stands in the way as the problem, not the choice of God. The problem with those that are lost is not that they cannot, it is that they will not. Each one must consider both the goodness and the severity of God. Those who will not obey will be cast down and face the judgment of God, those who obey will know the goodness of God and He will empower them to obey His commandments. God never gives anyone a task that they are unable to do, but will you turn and live? Grace gives power but each one must use the power given to them. During the days of Jeremiah the prophet ministered to a people who refused to repent, the people of Judah could not plead that they were “uninformed” or “not chosen,” their problem was they refused to repent and obey God's call to repentance. When Christ came this call went out to all mankind. Christ is the light that gives light to every man that comes into the world through prevenient grace. God draws each one by His grace, but each one must choose whether they will receive Christ or refuse Him. Those who refuse Christ will become full of deception and will ultimately blaspheme the Holy Spirit. Those who receive Christ will be grafted into His righteous nature by faith. There are many examples in the scriptures of those who have obeyed God's call to follow, such as Abraham who made a covenant based on faith and faithfulness to God. Faith is the only way into Christ and into the covenant that leads to salvation. What will you do with the light? The choice is yours.
