I Am He Who Searches the Minds and Hearts
The first three chapters of the book of Revelation describe a backslidden Church. God searches the minds and the hearts of those who profess to be part of His Church. Although the Church building is still standing and the scriptures are being read, and prayers are being offered up, most people are simply insulating themselves with heretical and hypocritical religion. Jesus is addressing the Church and calling upon them to repent! At the time of the writing of these letters the Christian Church had only been born about thirty years ago, and Jesus name was no longer being honored inside most of the Churches, this is true today as well. But in the midst of this God still offers His promises of forgiveness and restoration to all who truly and willingly obey Him. God sees those who obey and those who reject His word. God sees into the hearts and sees what secret thoughts, feelings, and purposes are in all people everywhere. The Church of Thyatira received a letter in which Jesus stressed His authority like no other letter. This Church represents a working Church, yet they had become careless of Christian truth and purity and Jesus rebuked them for this. There was a remnant within the Church, but others were vessels of dishonor. From within the Church arose Jezebel who had influenced many in the Church to commit sexual immorality. This is the heresy of the Nicolations, the heresy of the antinomians. They walked in the flesh and fulfilled the deeds of the flesh. The Church must repent of all sin and influence of these heresies! Get away from every trace of a sinning religion! Start living today by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
