How Much Are You Willing to Trust God?
The life of Job is the life of the saint. Christians are called to the strictest standards, they must be willing to pick up their cross and follow Christ. They are called to have more faith in God than themselves and others. They are called to completely abandon what they rely upon and trust in God as their source of providence. Job was a blameless man but had become complacent. He had begun to trust in his surroundings, what he had, and what he had learned. God brought him into complete darkness, to the end of all things he trusted in. Job comes out trusting in God more than himself. He was tried and proved in the fire of God and his heart was purified. He remained willing and did not hide and run from the trials. All Christians will be tried. How will we do? The question is not if but when, all will face crisis. God will shake all of Heaven and Earth, everything not of God will be thrown into the fire. We will be judged by what we have done and only that which cannot be shaken will be left! All will face the all-consuming fire. To make it a person must trust completely in God. Faith is a progressive principle and a believer will be given more abundant faith as they trust in God. Christians must not allow anything to take the place of total trust and dependency upon God. God is coming with fire, do not become complacent! The axe is laid to very root, God will purge us, and He will remove the chaff from our lives. Do not turn from Him! The fire of God is to refine, not to destroy. Will you trust in God or an idol? Make a commitment to trust God more than anything, make God your disciplined reality.
